The Pirelli GT4 America field closed out the Friday action with Practice 2 at Sebring International Raceway. Twenty-nine cars took to the bumpy track, using this last practice session to tweak their machines ahead of Qualifying on Saturday morning.

RS1 set the tone on Friday afternoon as Eric Filgueiras and John Capestro-Dubets tamed the bumps of Sebring, posting the fastest lap in the Silver class. Their teammates, Austin and Roland Krainz, went quickest in the Am Class. Tony Gaples and Max Root topped the Pro-Am class charts in their Blackdog Speed Shop Nissan Z NISMO GT4.

Silver Class

For the opening portion of the session, it was the No. 23 TechSport Racing Nissan Z NISMO GT4 of Michai Stephens and Canadian driver Jonathan Neudorf that held the top spot, but it wasn’t long before several other teams began to rise up the leaderboard. With 20 minutes remaining in Practice 2, it was the No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of John Capestro-Dubets and Floridian Eric Filgueiras that took over as the frontrunners, setting the fastest time overall with a lap time of 2:10.611.

TechSport Racing finished the session in second place, with third being occupied by Parker Thompson and Daniel Hanley in the No. 999 Hanley Motorsports Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO after clocking in a rapid time in the final laps.

The Top 5 was further completed by Colin Garrett and Zac Anderson in the No. 51 AutoTechnic Racing BMW M4 GT4 (G82), and Kevin Boehm and Kenton Koch in the No. 97 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 (G82).

Pro-Am Class

The No. 9 Blackdog Speed Shop Nissan Z NISMO GT4 of Tony Gaples and Max Root was the one to beat yet again in the Pro-Am Class. The pairing also set the fourth fastest time overall in the session.

Matheus Leist and Michael Auriemma had another strong session in the No. 89 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4, slotting themselves into second in class, followed closely by Kay Van Berlo and Curt Swearingin on board the No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

James Walker Jr. and Tyler McQuarrie returned to the Top 5 in class in their No. 82 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 (G82), accompanied by Eric Powell and Colin Harrison who did the same in their No. 22 TechSport Racing Nissan Z NISMO GT4.

Am Class

The No. 18 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport’s late attempt at a fast lap was impressive as Roland and Austin Krainz posted a 2:11.271, only 0.660 from first place overall. Kris Wilson and Paul Sparta were the second fastest in the Am Class, aboard their No. 98 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 (G82), while the No. 099 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Robb Holland and Jaden Lander rounded off the Top 3.

The Top 5 was further completed by James Clay and Charlie Postins in the No. 36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 (G82), and Nicholas Shanny and Terry Borcheller in the No. 20 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M4 GT4 (G82).
